During Early Voting and on Election Day, Peach County residents went to the polls and expressed their continued support for public education in Peach County Schools by voting to extend the one-cent sales tax (Education SPLOST) for our schools! Passage of the Education SPLOST is a cause for celebration; however, the victory belongs to the children, parents, teachers, and the people who live and work in Peach County! Continuation of the one-cent sales tax will assist in additional educational opportunities for students to continue to prepare for the future.
“This is not a new tax,” said Superintendent Dr. Lionel Brown. "It is a continuation of the current one-cent sales tax on consumer goods that fund educational improvements and school upgrades to benefit students of Peach County Schools. The results will be better preparation for tomorrow’s workforce, enhanced property value that includes good schools, and a boost in Peach County's economic development. Thank you to all who contributed to making this election a success. Your continued support of Peach County Schools is appreciated!"
